Vote for Houston’s 2018-2019 Most Valuable Brewery

When we started, there were like 5 people covering Houston beer. Now there are like 500. We’ve come a long way in three years as a website, and as a community.

It’s crazy to think that we’ve been around for three whole years. In internet years, we’re basically bound for a nursing home soon. We’ve literally seen a dozen podcasters, bloggers, and other online personalities come and go in our short three years of covering Houston beer. Our friend James (in the Radio) Simpson of What’s on Tap Radio can vouch.

In case you didn’t know, this site has been self-funded since day one. People think we have some massive staff, but we’re just a couple of super passionate beer nerds that volunteer our time and talent to make this happen. While we’ve gathered a few sponsors in the last two years, they don’t scratch the surface when it comes to the time and money we put into this website.

All that said, we can’t celebrate our third birthday without thanking you, our loyal readers. We went from a handful of readers a week to a few hundred, to sometimes a few thousand (when we write super cool stuff). So thank you, from the bottom of our hearts!

And thanks to the Houston breweries that make our site possible.

With that said, for our birthday, we want to celebrate you and the breweries we serve!

You get a chance to vote, and they get a chance to earn your vote.

If you’ve been along for the ride for a while, you know we started this thing Spring 2016 and really got the site going on July 13, 2016, better known as 7-13. We couldn’t have not planned it better.

It’s not about us, though. It’s about Houston. It’s about the breweries that have turned our beer culture into something that’s nationally recognized.

For our Birthday, we want to shine a spotlight on one Houston brewery, the Most Valuable Brewery of the 2018-2019 season. SpindleTap has won the people’s vote two years in a row, and while we love those folks, we’re waiting to see if somebody can dethrone them.

So we’re raising the stakes this year!

This year’s MVB winner will receive 1 year of advertising on our site, reaching tens of thousands of beer drinkers.
