6th Annual – 2021-2022 Houston MVB
Wooow. 6 Years! First and foremost, thanks y’all. We say it as often as we can without gushing, but thank you so much for following along for all these years.
We started this little site because we thought Houston’s emerging craft beer scene deserved better…
More quality articles about the beer and the people that made it.
Better photography, design, marketing, and other visual communication (and teaching folks how to do more of it – we’re always recruiting if you’re very serious about fun).
And more talks about how beer is bigger than just beer. Our goal has always been enabling category growth, engaging a broader consumer base, and sharing Houston beer.
After 6 years, y’all have proven to us week in and week out that our time isn’t spent in vain. When we started there were a small handful of little blogs that were pretty good, and zero major news outlets covering the topic.
Fast forward to 2022, and now every big news site in town is posting blogs, videos, and social content about craft beer. Heck, a few establishments have even been so kind as to copy some of our pages and put them on their own site. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, right?
Dawww… shucks… 🙂 *blushes*
From adding new people to the team, to adding an online store, to becoming a part of the beer industry by working on photo/video projects and designing labels/websites for breweries, Beer Chronicle has grown into what it is now because of you.
We’re humbled by y’all’s support, readership, and every time you share our stuff on social media.
Thank you.
What Even Is a Houston MVB, and What Does it Have to Do With Our Birthday?
Now, if you’ve been along for the ride since day one, you know we started this thing in Spring of 2016 and really got the site going on July 13, 2016, better known as 7-13. We couldn’t have not planned it better.
In typical Beer Chronicle Fashion, we don’t want to make our birthday just about us.
For our SIXTH Birthday, we want to shine a spotlight on one Houston brewery, the Most Valuable Brewery (MVB), of the 2021-2022 season.
The second half of 2021 started off a little rocky… And let’s be honest, so far 2022 has stopped us from saying things like “when the world gets back to normal.”
Despite the last year (or couple of years) being tough, hopefully a brewery in town has helped fill your belly or your heart (or both) enough that you want to vote for them as the MVB!
Vote here, share the link, and get all the homies in on it! But hurry! Voting ends July 13 at midnight and winners will be announced soon after.
MVB Voting – What’s in it for You?
3 Random voters will be chosen for a swag pack that’ll include beer, brewery swag, the okayest Beer Chronicle swag, and a very adequate high five.
Furthermore, every voter will receive a discount code for our store site. We seldom run sales because, to be brutally honest, our margins aren’t that great! Hah!
Finally, helping shine a little spotlight on your favorite brewery. The makers, servers, and pioneers that you think are raising the bar for Houston beer deserve to be recognized. And you can help in less than 2 minutes.
MVB Voting – What’s in it for the Breweries?
The MVB winner will receive a framed certificate to commemorate their victory, and we’re adding a sick trophy into the mix.
The MVB winner will also receive an ad spot on our site, reaching the tens of thousands of beer drinkers that read our rants and rambles as well as an interview to commemorate their win.
2016-2017 MVB – SpindleTap
2017-2018 MVB – SpindleTap
2018-2019 MVB – No Label
2019-2020 MVB – Ingenious
2020-2021 MVB – Megaton
2021-2022 MVB – Your (favorite) Brewery Here
Winning a GABF medal is almost as prestigious as winning the MVB.
Almost. 😉
Just ask one of SpindleTap’s owners, Brody Chapman. He had this to say, “Thanks for all your support over the last four years. You’ve been instrumental in our growth.”
So, make your country, city, proud and vote!
Beers to you, Houston. 🍻
