The lines are becoming more and more blurry between a great craft beer restaurant, a beer bar with good food options, and a food truck park with both. Regardless of the classification, good eats and good beer options abound.

We could probably write a whole post on the meanings of all these different businesses, and maybe we will one day.

Situated neatly alongside the Nation’s third biggest port, Houston’s East Side is largely dedicated to industry. There aren’t as many food, beer, and entertainment options on the Eastside of Houston as there are in the other parts of town.

The Backyard Grill – Jersey Village
Great burgers and better beer with a spacious outdoor patio, plus arcade games and sandbox for the kiddos. Of all the places on this list, BYG is probably the one I’ve been to more than any. They’ve got 48 taps and another ~100 or so bottles at any given time. This is where Josh Olalde, Houston’s most prolific beer photographer, and I met up for the first time.
