This Icon Honey Saison has fantastic flavor! It starts off with a real mild honey note as it starts. It’s crisp and bubbly on the tongue – pretty light and drinkable. There’s a real mild bitterness on the finish, but it’s mostly malty and sweet honey notes with an even more subtle citrus flavor. This beer’s really well balanced.

It reminds me of a maltier, honey-infused, more mild version of Devil’s Backbone, Real Ale’s Belgian Tripel. That’s one of my favorite beers from Real Ale, so I’d say it’s a welcome comparison.

I gave Icon Honey Saison a 4 star, cause it’s great! I could see myself drinking 2-3 of these beers easy! I love how subtle the honey flavor is.

It’s a clear light blonde color with teeny bubbles. Color a few shades darker and bubbles a few sizes bigger than champagne.

This beer blew away my expectations in one way and was spot on in others. I always look forward to the Icon series and the nice folks down at Saint Arnold put lots of care into the craft, so I knew it was gonna be a great beer – spot on. However, I was a bit unsure about the honey. I thought it might be overpowering or too sweet, but I should’ve known better.

The Icon Honey Saison artwork looks just like all the other icons. This one’s black and yellow.

I got my Icon Honey Saison at HEB. Saint Arnold is everywhere in Houston, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find. However, Icons are seasonal, so hurry up and buy!

One of the first craft beers I fell in love with years ago was a red icon. I don’t even know the name, the type of beer or anything. At that time I didn’t care. I just knew it was good. Now, I always check them out when there’s a new one. Although they’ve never disappointed, none were as good as that first one. What’s your favorite Icon?
