Texas Razzle Snake was the most surprising beer I had when we visited BAKFISH Brewing. I had no idea what it was – never heard it mentioned before that day. I took one sip and said man, what is this beer?!

BAKFISH Brewing was the first brewery in Pearland and they’re doing some great things down on the Southside of town. Often, people judge a brewery based on 1 beer, and that’s crazy! Do yourself a favor and go check out what they have going on. You wont regret it!

Texas Razzle Snake looks exactly what you would’ve expected to be poured when you ordered a “Brew of H” by No Label Brewing or a “Cougars Paw” by 8th Wonder.

Texas Razzle Snake pours a hazy blood red body with not much of a head or lacing to speak of. Although BAKFISH said this beer isn’t a direct homage to UH or The Rockets you might see it on the draft board to celebrate those teams to start the season or a big win.

BAKFISH Brewing brewed their All Y’all and added a ridiculous amount of raspberry puree and the result is magic.

Texas Razzle Snake is packed with a 6.5% ABV and you would never know it by the taste. This a beer that everyone can enjoy and respect. It is refreshing and packed with flavor. Every brewery has these beers on tap. No, I’m not saying that everyone has a Golden Ale with raspberry puree, they all have beers that you won’t find outside of the brewery. That’s why it’s laughable when someone says they don’t like a brewery but have never been to there.

While it’s not apples to apples, I would compare Texas Razzle Snake to Southern Stars Mango Theory. They’re different beers, but I really enjoyed both. Mango Theory being an IPA base beer with a mango puree added, it also has a 6.5% ABV!

I gave Texas Razzle Snake a 4 star rating because it’s unique and a style of beer that I am a big fan of. It’s not going to take over the West Coast IPA’s or BA Stouts but it is nice to have on a hot Houston day!

I have only seen Texas Razzle Snake at BAKFISH Brewing. While some accounts may get a keg, why not just head to Pearland and check out their tap room?

I drank Razzle Snake mid way through a flight of beer, and ended up leaving with 64oz of it! Have you been down South to see what’s been brewing? Let us know and as always, Beers to you, Houston! 🍻
