It’s wet hop season! It’s wet hop season!  Why am I so pumped?  Wet hops are super fresh hops off the vine and are only available during hop harvest season every autumn. And if ya don’t knoooow, now ya know!  It’s kind of like that other harvest season many of us remember from high school or college.  The flavor from wet hops is intensely delicious!  The newly released Whole Foods Wet Hop Explorer more than proves my introductory thoughts.

The label art for Whole Foods Wet Hop Explorer is very simple.  The crowler label is blue with the Whole Foods Market Brewing compnay logo written in the middle in red and blue.

The aroma of Whole Foods Wet Hop Explorer is danky, grassy, and hoppy.  It literally reminds me of high school when I said “I’ll meet you after seventh period man.” It’s plain ridiculous!  The pour provides plenty of head and the lacing is right on point.

Whole Foods Wet Hop Explorer provides a taste explosion from beginning to end.  One color is a good description. Green.  If you love hazy IPAS you know exactly what I’m saying.  The flavor is overwhelming (in a good way) with a danky and grassy flavor.  Wet Hop Explorer is amazing right now, but in a week it should be hazetaboulous.  The mouthfeel is super thick and holds up all the intense flavor perfectly.  As usual the bitters fall into that WTF is that Whole Foods mindset in the Wet Hop Explorer.

We always try and give you local comparisons to give some insight into the beers we review.  There really isn’t one I can recommend.  My advice plain and simple is go to your local Whole Foods location and try the Whole Foods Wet Hop Explorer plus the new DL Double Wet Hop!

Whole Foods  Wet Hop Explorer is available at all Whole Food locations.  This is your lucky day Houston, most of these beers never leave the Post Oak location.  The DL Double Wet Hop is also being mass distributed to all Whole Food locations.  Crowlers are available at the Post Oak location only, but growlers can be purchased at all locations.

4.5

Whole Foods Wet Hop Explorer

Whole Foods Wet Hop Explorer is another homerun by the guys at Whole Foods Brewing. The danky, grassy aroma and taste form one of the best local IPA’s I’ve tasted recently. I am giving it a solid 4.5 star rating. This will be the only batch of Wet Hop Explorer this year. Don’t miss out! Did your taste buds get wet hopped?
